so i think ive concluded that once i buy some airbags, they are basically just plug in and im set. one thing i was curious about is is there a sensor somewhere that needs to be replaced? like a sensor that would have gotten smashed in the wreck?
also off this topic but does anyone know where i could find the dimensions of the coil springs that would have come stock on non lls exp.
so no one knows if there is a sensor that i need to replace, to ake the airbags work properly?
the car has been in a wreck hence the old airbags being blown, is there anything i need to do before plugging in the new airbags?
i thought there would be some sort of a crush sensor in the front end that gets crushed in a wreck
If it were me I would NOT connect any airbags unless the front crash sensors were replaced first. At the very least I would have the airbag module read by a scanner to see what codes exist, if any. If the sensor is damaged it's calibration could be off and you could end up eating an airbag as you drive over a speed bump.
ok thats what i thought, what scanner do i need to take it to? dealership? or just the auto parts store?
where are the front sensors located on the vehicle?
