Welcome to FTE.
Loss of back-pressure would be the source of the MPG drop I think.

You're using a tuner that's designed for stock intakes and exhausts. If you think I'm FOS, call Edge and ask them.

Get the Edge converted to a Gryphon and get custom tunes for the intake and exhaust.

Did you set the Edge to Level 2 when you towed?

Don't forget the winter blend gas is here too.

A term (mostly a myth) that describes the effect of changing to a free-flowing exhaust (no cats, larger pipes, etc.).

If you get a custom tune you won't have to worry about it.

If you don't want to listen to sound advice, why bother to ask questions?

You need to go back to the stock intake until you get custom tunes for the intake.

A cat back exhaust doesn't need custom tunes. If your definition of straight pipes is no cats, you definitely need custom tunes. I'm surprised your CEL didn't light (O2 sensor).

You never answered my question about towing nor did you acknowledge the normal MPG drop for winter.

Lastly, if you're relying on the lie-o-meter (truck or Edge), your REAL MPG is probably a lot different. It would be weird if your calculated MPG was higher than the lie-o-meter, but not unheard of.

Just a little word of advice Stacey...Shotgunz is trying to help you out here, but you are somehow avoiding the majority of his questions which could potentially help ya out.
Slow down, read his posts, and assess his questions.

Welcome to FTE.

Okay Stacey - let's start from the beginning.

1. Have you read the owner's manual for the Edge?
1.a. Are you sure your GR and TS are correct?
1.b. Do you know how to program the PCM from stock to a different level?
1.c. Do you now realize you shouldn't tow or haul anything over 2000 lbs (approximately) on level 3? In fact with your model year, I wouldn't tow anything unless I was on level 2.
1.d. Do you know that there are octane requirements? Do you meet them?
1.e. Have you confirmed your odometer and speedometer are accurate (or real close)? See 1.a (above).
1.f. Have you changed ANY of the user adjustable parameters on the Edge?
2. Who installed the under-the-hood intake bling? What manufacturer? Are all the connections tight?
3. Who installed the exhaust? Any leaks?
4. Is the truck's maintenance up-to-date (per the maintenance guide)?
5. Any codes (DTCs)? (The Edge can read them.)

Using the Edge Put the PCM back to stock. This will be described in the manual.

Put the stock intake back on. Go to PHP's website and read about converting it to a Gryphon with custom tunes for your intake. Make sure you tell them you're running without a muffler. They'll need your gear ratio and tire size.

You'll have to send the Edge to PHP. They'll convert it to a Gryphon and send it back with custom tunes (I recommend 87 performance, 87 towing, and keep the canned 93 performance - unless you want to run 93 octane, then you also need a 93 performance). When you get it back you can install the intake and Gryphon.

It's possible your odometer is wrong (which will affect your MPG) because you have the wrong gear ratio and tire size. Again, this is explained in the Edge manual.

Do not rely on the lie-o-meters (Edge and truck) to measure your MPG. Hand calculate each tank and keep a running average. Fuelly.com is a great web-site to track and compare your MPG.
