So i bought a fuel filter for my 1988 f250 302 and its definatly the wrong filter the fuel filter in my truck has a plastic cover almost looking like a cup standing up so im guessing there is a filter that goes inside this plastic case and where do i get it?
i just went and checked and it has four hoses coming from the fuel tank connecting to it and then from the filter to the engine it has 2 hoses not sure if that helps and one out?
from what you are describing (pics didnt work for me, dumb computer) is the tank selector valve assembly, the filter would be further up the frame rail towards the engine bay, follow the line coming out towards the front of the engine and you should run into it within 2 feet of the valve... and that is the proper looking filter, "should probably" be held on by a hose clamp... i say should/probably because its hard to tell what previous owners can figure out to 'modify' lol
