tail lights on a 78
I have a question about tail lights on a 1978.I have brake lights and turn signals.I can't get the tail lights working.I have checked for power with a test light and has power, I am thinking of running another ground to the body to see if this helps.Have also checked fuses and replaced bulbs with new ones.Any info on what I might have missed.

Did you check the power at the fuse or the bulb socket? If you checked at the fuse check again at the socket itself. If it has power its more than likely a ground issue. Check inparticular the ground at the socket, common problem with these trucks.

Checked for power at at each socket.They have power. I have run new grounds from the socket to the truck bed.I am thinking of running a couple of more chassis grounds.Just curiois if any one else had this issue?

I think just about everyone who has one of these old trucks has had turn signal/brake light/tail light issues. Mine was caused by hatchet wiring jobs by PO, so I removed wiring from plug in the firewall that runs along the frame to the tail light harness, and cut out the bad wiring, and soldered in new wire and covered with heat shrink and covered all wiring with split loom. Just take your time, and get a good multitester, saved me a lot of time by finally getting a multitester rather than guessing what the problem was. I was really close to putting in a new turn signal switch, but thankfully I figured it out before putting it in, so that saved me 75 bucks.
