Got Oil Change at Ford... Now Random Sensor Unplugged.

I had my oil changed at the Dealership the day before thanksgiving. I popped my hood today to "check the engine" and I saw a sensor/clip unplugged and attached by tape to another sensors wires. I have never seen this before in my engine and am 99.9% sure it was not like this when I brought the truck in. I have take my AFE intake in and out and not seen this new "sensor" placed there. The electrical tape is new and shinny compared to the older tape covering some wires. Can anyone identify this sensor? Is it a new thing the dealerships are doing (i usually do my own oil changes). Trying to figure out why and what they did and if it needs to be connected somewhere. I don't even see where it came from.

Thanks Guys

Appears to be your MAF sensor connector...some have a dummy plug (looks like a dummy plug inserted on the tope pic) ...mine doesn't have the dummy plug...its still plugged into the OEM intake tube. Is that an AM intake?

AFE Stage 1 (stock replacement housing/filter)

I just found a photo of my engine and intake from before the oil change and it doesn't show the sensor.

that is the plug for the maf sensor. I have seen two different styles mine uses the plug that is in the pic highlighted in green, and doesn't have the round type plug at all. I'm not sure why the change, or when, but my buddy has the style that you have. His also has that same plug that doesn't go anywhere.

You need a picture of your intake before the oil change from the same angle. The first set of pictures appear to be shot from the top / side of the degauss bottle where you can see the connector. The second, old set, of pictures is shot from the top / front of vehicle where you cannot see the connectors. I can't see how one set of pictures can be compared to the other to validate whether this connector was there or not before the oil change.

true i know what you are saying. i just never took a photo with that same angle before the oil change (working with what i have). i also posted the photo of the intake to show my AFE Intake incase MoyockPowerstroke wanted to see.

AFTER:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/56405091@N02/5212840312/" title="IMG_1308 by ridelit, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5125/5212840312_d7d6eec02e.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="IMG_1308" /></a>

BEFORE: Note that you don't see any red wire it is now covered in black electrical tape.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/56405091@N02/5212914832/" title="11 by ridelit, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5130/5212914832_0b45c35b6a.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="11" /></a>

I know that it's not very scientific and i don't have the right angle of before and after photos but that is what stood out to me. I feel better about it now that other members have said that is something unplugged on their trucks. But I still wonder where it came from and why it's like that. Was the Ford Tech just being nice and cleaning up my engine and wiring.

There was a MAF sensor delete by Ford somewhere in 2005 (most likely due to the removal of the wastegate in the intake elbow)...early MY 05's are still plugged in and later MY 05's have the dummy plug....either way they are useless since your truck has most likely been flashed with an updated strategy for the PCM. Looks like yours is one of the deleted ones and is just hanging out (which is all they did after the delete).
