Hmmm

Well, interesting situation here... To give you a bit of background, I came out of my apartment one day to find that somebody had aparently been ****in with my truck. My truck hadnt moved but my batteries were dead, my right rear tire was dug into the gravel parking lot from being spun(not at high speed) and my new starter solenoid would not wanna work then stick on and not disengage until i hit it. so apparently somebody who doesnt know the proper procedure to fire my truck up was messin with it. I had just installed a pushbutton in the dash to crank it bc my ignition internals are screwed up and i cant remove the key bc then its in acc, and i can only go from acc, to off, to on. but i digress. Now as winter hits, its not wanting to start, i plug it in as nessecary bc the GPs are shot, but the problem is in the cables or starter, and I am almost thinking more starter, bc the cables (while in not so good shape) arent any worse really than last year and I have had trouble free starting up until it got colder. It seems the starter just doesnt have any power... Im sure thats what it is, but I wanted to get a second opinion.

-Batteries: 1 year old
-Alternator: 1 year old
-Voltage Regulator: 1 year old

without glowplugs, good luck starting it at all. your batteries could be weak, wire could be fried from the inside or your starter could just be dragging. age of the battery means nothing, once they have been drained dead, they can be brought back to life but never as good as they once were. i would start by taking a ohm meter to the cables, take the batteries and starter to autozone or kragen to have them load tested to check the condition of all 3.

I am in agreement with oreo... first have batteries tested.. if they are no good the warranty at only 1 year should replace them. Then check those cables and make sure all your connections including the grounds are CLEAN & TIGHT!
Then put some working gp's in that thing.

well, unfortunately i live no where near any of those stores, and cant afford GPs....really, until I get hired for one of these jobs I cant do jack ****...i am getting pull started and hill starts, and starter fluid works pretty well still in lieu of GPs...

I had an issue a couple of weeks ago where my truck all of a sudden wouldnt start. I found it was just the cable, and all i did was connect booster cables from the positive cable one my passenger side battery, right to the big terminal on the starter solenoid. started right up for me, so i replaced the cable and works grat now. if you do that, you can rule the cable out at least

well, thats what i was thinking of doing...but i only have those cheap like 8 or 10 gauge cables...when i drain my batteries too far i dont even bother asking for a jump, i just ask for a pull
