HG job recently

Just did one that with the pressure gauge hooked up, the pressure would rise in the degas bottle to 21 psi IN THE BAY AT HIGH IDLE!

This is obviously with the pressure tester hooked in-place of the degas cap?

No reason to use anything other than stock. Used bolts too!

I will agree with the gaskets form 90% of applications out there. However, that percentage goes down with regard to bolts.

Even the Master Tech got it wrong, the head gaskets did not fail, the torque to yield bolts failed.

Hi Vince.....

Don't confuse not having a comeback with a flawless record. I rarely go back to people that I've had issue with how they did things. It's not worth the time nor money to fight it either, even if the issue happened within mere days or weeks from the time of the initial work.

I am not saying that's the case, just don't confuse not having a comeback with the owner not having a problem later on in of itself.

Like I said, it depends on the application of the truck with regard to how well the TTY bolts hold up. Stock applications, if done correctly, TTY bolts will be more the adequate, however, be realistic, how many owners of the 6.0s have stock programmed trucks? Not many, depending on what tuners they've used, that adds even greater risk to the TTY bolts. I am not blaming the bolts for that, but you have to realize that the truck has a different application then the stock configuration, thus stock parts may or may not be up to snuff.

Hi Vince.....

That slipped by me. You are right, 508HP and my stock gaskets are doing great. Try that with the TTY bolts, I don't think so.

Same here Tex...... Stock gaskets are holding good once nailed down properly. Still checking heads with a straight edge anyone?...... What Ford says is acceptable is not always the best remedy but again when you work for a dealership your hands are tied.

Where the flash is the sealing material was gone allowing combustion gasses into the coolant passages.
