White Smoke

I think I have some kind of fuel issue. My 96 smokes a little on start up ( not enough to concern me). The problem is after it idles for a few minutes it starts to smoke a little. It is definatley unburned fuel by the smell, and it's white. If I take off it smokes for about a 1/4 mile, then clears up. Truck has 113000 mies on it. It seems to have good power. The glow plugs are good as is the relay, and I replaced the IPR after I got the truck. Do I have an injector problem, or injector o-rings maybe? Also this truck was sitting for 2 years without being started AT ALL when I bought it.

With that low of miles, I have a hard time believe you have any injector problems, and usually injector orings cause burnt oil which would smoke blue. Have you checked UVCH wiring? Also, some white smoke is normal. If it clears up pretty quick, you might have a non issue.

That's the way I was thinking. It does use a little oil, but I didn't know if the o-rings would do that or not. Going by what I've read on here, and considering it sat for so long I was thinking of doing the o-rings to be safe.

It certainly wouldn't hurt. That is a long while to be sitting. They aren't hard to do either. Just takes a couple hours.
