E40D works "backwards" ?

it seems that at light, part throttle acceleration it shifts nice and firm, but when i stomp it then the shifts are too soon and kinda mooshy--this seems exactly the opposite of how it should work to me....any ideas ? my o/d button is NOT flashing, and the truck is shifting correctly thru all gears when in 'D'.... i do have a banks turbo and the trans command module that came with it is plugged in.

Unplug the trans command module and try it. That module is a POS all it does is overrides the logic circuit and gives it way to much line pressure.

i tried it with and without the module pluged in, its the same either way. it shifts nice and firm ( and at a slightly elevated rpm ) under light part throttle conditions, but as soon as i step into it harder it shifts too soft and to soon ( for my particular taste, at least. )

I never liked electronic line pressure risers since they just add more strain to the hydraulic seals. I know of a few cases where they shortened the life of the transmission.

It sounds like the line pressure circuit is either jambed at one setting or the boost valve is blowing off too early.

Have you reset or tested the FIPL (fuel injection pump lever sensor).... or do you still use it.
