lower dash

Hey guys I have an 04 F250 and I wanted to put a bull bar with fog lights on but I don't want to drill into my dashto install a switch so I figured id look into the 05 lower dash with the upfitter switches and the driver side glove box, I was wondering how much it would cost if there's any modification etc. Any info you guys have would be great thanks.

Something else I have seen done is get a piece of aluminum diamond plate and mount it up under the dash so it hangs down then you can drill and put switches on it any way you want.

That's a cool idea, I was thinking of making it more factory but im still not sure the diamond plate does sound nice, my cousin wants to drill right into the dash lol but im not a big fan of that.

Yeah there is a bunch of stuff I have not done to my truck at all becasue I refuse to drill any holes in it. Mine came with upfitter switches so that made it a little easier. Still refuse to drill holes in sheet metal or dash thought finally found mud flaps from WeatherTech that don't require drilling any holes. Still trying to figure out how to mount antennas

Yeah im the same exact way I don't wanna drill any holes. My buddy helped me install my headunit and he kept insisting the plastic piece between the stereo and the climate controls had to come out so I finaly gave in even tho I was against it and I ended up being right and now my dash is kinda screwed up so I've gotta fix that, but that's my reasons against it lol. I figured the upfitter switches if it can just be like swapped would be a good choice for no drilling etc.

I have actualy looked at the 650 dash that's my other consideration, but as far as the 05-07 dash goes does the grey match the 04 grey? And if its the one with the glovebox on the driver side is there alot of modification or just some trimming to be done for that?

To buy all of the parts required for upfitter w/ driver side glove box is going to be about $300 if you bought the parts brand new.

There are ways to install the upfitters in a pre 2005 lower dash, it does however leave you to come up with a filler piece on the right hand side of the switches.

To install A lower 05 dash in your truck is going to require some holes to be drilled in the metal framework under the dash. Also moderate amounts of plastic trimming on both your current sub dash and a bit of the lower 05 piece.

The thread I linked to has good info, here are the links

The upfitter switches are nice, but unnecessary. Just add some switches on a piece of diamond plate, like you suggested.

I am the same way when it comes to drilling holes. But, I did drill a hole in the fuse panel door under the steering wheel to put in a rocker switch that powers the fuel tank in our '06 diesel. Kinda handy to be honest. I don't hit it with my knee and it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
