ok so my horn and cruise control have stopped working, and the air bag light keeps coming on. i checked the connectors at the bottom of the steering column and everything seems fine so the theory is that the power is not connecting somewhere between there and the steering wheel. could it be the connector that allows the wheel to spin and maintain connections at the same time?
Welcome to FTE,first of all let us know what your driving. check the fuses first if ok the problem probably lies with the clock spring in the steering wheel. Both of the items you mentioned will not work if the clock spring has gone bad. just what you suspected.
welcome to FTE. what you are describing is classic symptoms of a dead "clockspring" assembly. it is behind the steering wheel in the upper column.
the proper ford name for it is "control assembly, air bag".
it is not very hard to do if you have mechanical ability's and common sense.
