I have a 1999 F-250 Superduty with a 7.3 turbo. It is running funny at just above idle. Is like its missing on one cilinder. It feels like it is getting starved for fuel and sputters a little then if you give it some gas it runs fine.
Any ideas of what could be causing this or how to fix it?
Welcome to FTE.We will try our best to help ya.
Give us some more info because this is a broad area.
Changed fuel filter lately?
Done the in-tank mods?
Have you drained the fuel bowl and then watched how fast it fills back up,possible weak pump?
running some cleaner through it now. what oil can i use in it and how much? My last truck and all the work trucks i did drive was delo 15-40. this is my first 7.3 turbo.
thanks.
you said its a 99, is it an early, or late 99? Not sure of your location, are you a cold or warm climate locale? Oile will have much bigger impacts in cold. For that matter, it may be exaust back presure kicking in playing with you. Little more info would help a bunch, I am sure this site will get you going, more knowledge here than I have ever found on the net.
