I recently installed and brand new rear fuel tank and a replacement used side tank under my 79' F350 Ranger. I caused some problems along the way, but they are being managed.
What i am unable to understand/ figure out is If i fill the rear tank it drains into the front not a terrible thing seeing as i get all the fuel without having to flip the selector switch while heading down the road. Where I am at is i'd like to fix this "problem" so when it comes to finalization on the restoration all is as new and proper.
All info and direction is much appreciated ahead of time.
Something is faulty with your selector mechanism. It likely isn't being drained rather is actually being pumped from one tank to the other. This is a problem if the tank you are slowly filling up is already full, you'll run it over.
