Well I replaced the heater core in my 67 this weekend. Now it seems I've sprung a few leaks in the radiator. In my search for a replacement there seems to be many OE replacements. Which is correct? '67 352 C6 2wd, note there are NO transmission lines. What is the correct replacement, and who's got it?
From the few new ones I have seen, they all come with automatic cooling passages. You can run a hose with a clamp on each end and connect the two openings together. You can also just get two brass plugs and screw them in to bypass the openings.
Jeff, You might try one for a 76 with 360. It should be the same. Most of those year trucks came with autos. The counter sales person should be able to tell if it comes with the lower tank.
I have used Modine brand radiators for years and have had grate success with them.
When I needed to replace the radiator on my 65, I went to my favorite local radiator shop. The guy there just happens to be a Ford guy too, so he dialed me in with a new radiator for the cost of fixing the old and I needed cooling lines since I switched to an auto. The thing about the 65 is that the radiator frame mounting set is a one year only deal. You may run into this using a 76 on your 67.
My suggestion would be to take your radiator with you to a local radiator shop and order up a new one. Do you need one with an auto cooler built in or do you have a stick? If you do not need the cooler, just leave the plastic plugs in the holes, there is no need to do anything else as they are used to pass fluid, they do not take anything from the radiator.
Just my $.02's --Mike
