Why NITTO Tires

I am wondering why some of you guys are putting the NITTO tires on your trucks? I know they look awesome, but are there any other reasons?

What kind of performance compared to others?

Thanks

I had NITTO tires on my old truck. I loved the look of the tire, how it performed off-road....yet it was super quite on the highway. Also I liked the fact it was an all black side wall...hence no raised white lettering. Soon as I wear out these factory tires...I will be installing a new set of NITTOs!

I have them and love them so far. I've been off road a couple of times, nothing too serious, but they did great. We just had a significant snow storm in Salt Lake City (15+ inches at my house). They really performed well in the snow too. No complaints so far.

Bought them because of their 4080lb weight rating and to try something other than the Toyo MTs

Did you know that, even though the Nittos are rated at 4080 lbs, the Ford Rims are only rated to 3000 lbs?

But I'm with you, when my michelins wear out ( which will be soon) I'm probably going to install the Nittos for the extra load rating.

Really like the look! Are they quiet on the highway? Are there multiple versions of them? I am always on the lookout for a good set of winter tires. Almost forgot to ask, how many miles are you guys getting out of them?

Mine are Nitto Terra Grapplers...295/70/18.

I had those other tires on my 2007..waay too loud, so I went with a less aggressive tire this time. Look great but not for me. I do more highway than anything. I do dove and dear hunt, but more for working and towing than anything else.

Here is my 2007.

Those shoes look nice! My questions are how is the road noise and what kind of mileage are you guys getting out of them? I do a boat load of highway miles with and without towing. Last set of Good Years on my F-150 yielded me 75k miles. I just don't want to be buying tires every year.

Thanks for clarifying. I suspect I will need an aggressive set of snow tires when I begin plowing. Never bought a new vehicle that came equipped with tires that could do the job.

BTW -- really like the looks of your Airstream. Did some research into them and liked what I saw. Nice appointments and that all silver look is awesome. It will be a while before the Mrs. will allow me to buy anything after this truck, but I got my eye on them. Guess I will need to live with the old Jayco...

I'd say close to 40,000 miles out of them. Remember that diesel engine weighs a lot. Thats a lot of wear on tires. Also depends on how hot it gets where you are. I live in Texas and well you know... Tires arent cheap. They usually don't last. I but New every 2 years.
