2004 Expedition plug change
New member here making my first post.
I just finished changing the plugs on my 04 expedition, what a chore. Excellent help from this site, thank you all very much. I've had nothing but good things to say about this truck for some time -- it's been very troublefree -- but when I saw the plug locations I was leaning the other way. But, I was determined to at least try and see how far I could get. Amazingly, I was able to replace all eight plugs using just my meager set of 3/8 sockets, extensions, and a universal joint. I removed seven of the 7mm coil bolts with the ratchet, one required a wrench due to access restrictions. The process took several hours since it was my first time, but if I had to do it again I could probably do it in an hour. I found a rats nest on top of one cylinder head -- literally! I was pleased to find that for each plug there was an "easy way" to access and remove the COP and the plug itself. My old plugs were not the two-pieced ones so I had no issues with breaking.
Next the transmission fluid gets flushed....
