I just bought a 1993 Ford F250 with the 7.3 IDI diesel at a very good price. The back two Injectors are leaking. I replaced the return line t-valves and it still leaks. What could be the reason I have this leak?
the copper washers under the injectors are probably the problem. pull the injectors out and put new washers in there. not sure if you can use any copper washer or if it has to be special?
X2. How are you doing catfish. My money is either a cut oring or the T's are not properly seated. The threads on the injector can also be cross threaded.
I would also check the cone at the end of the injector hard line. I had a truck with a cross threaded injector, changed the injector and it still leaked. Cross threading it had changed the angle the line met with the injector and put a new groove in it when the PO over tightened it trying to stop the leak. I had to replace the hard line as well and no more leaking.
