I have a 2000 exp xls and came with mustang seats, did not have the original seats when i bought it, it does have the airbag light on and blinking 3 & 6 meaning 36, I understand it has to do with the seats maybe the plug is not connected, what can I do to get the airbag light out with out having the to replace the seats? Any help please.
LFC 36 in a 2000 Explorer indicates that the driver's side airbag circuit is shorted to ground, shorted to battery or ignition, has high or low resistance. Each of these conditions has a separate diagnostic trouble code. If you have access to a scan tool that can pull the specific diagnostic code that will help determine which fault is being detected and hence which pinpoint test to follow.
well its time to see who has a scanner, I guess not all scanner can scan airbag codes correct?
Correct. The standard consumer-grade of scan tool will only read powertrain diagnostic codes (those with a 'P' prefix). To gain access to other modules, such as various body modules, transmission modules, ABS, SRS, etc. requires a professional grade scan tool.
There are some ABS and SRS capable scan tools starting to enter the consumer market though, but apparently they are not yet being widely offered by parts stores for the "free code scan" services.
