460 air cleaner

I am rebuilding the 460 and will put in the 73 F-350. I am also putting an HEI distributor in it. Can I just use a normal edlebrock air cleaner of the size that will clear the distributor cap. Or do I have to have the stock type with the air flow.

It should clear, if it doesnt just use a spacer as you have plenty of room under the hood of that gen. truck...

I found an open Ford Racing 13" chrome air cleaner that fits nicely. It uses the stock 86 460 ford F250 filters also. So easy to find & replace. On thing I did with mine was put a piece of tin about 6 " long in the front to keep the fan from throwing crap into the filter. It seems to help with filters not getting as dirty as fast.
