So I'm heading home tonight, snowing like crazy, following the two tracks down the dark and deserted hiway, running about 45 when suddenly the truck just starts stumbling/shuddering and losing power, lasted about 3-5 seconds then smoothed out, ran about half mile and did it again and "check engine light" came on and stayed on the rest of the way home. Truck ran great rest of the way home. (about 15 miles)
CPS was replaced a few years ago, but other than that nothing has been touched since new.
All I got is a code reader and will be pulling those tomorrow. Before I do does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
Would this be a good time for the AE? I may just be ordering on up here before long...

The only thing I can think of is snow getting in the stock snorkle of your intake, eventually sucking the snow inside the box. Just my guess beings you said it was snowing like crazy.
Sounds like classic CPS failure to me.
They are cheap enough now to just go buy one, throw it in and make sure that the connectors are clean and corrosion free.
You can buy replacement connectors for the wiring harness if necessary and solder them in.
I've done it twice on my truck now.
One for the AC pressure switch and the other for the ICP sensor.
Well that was interesting... I hooked up the scan tool and to my suprise there werent any codes and the "service engine soon" light was not on anymore. Anyone ever seen that before?
I had a grey CPS in the glove box that I got from Ford a year or two ago so I put that in. Threw the old one away as I still have the OEM CPS from a swap 5 years ago when everyone said you should carry a spare.
So should I rest easy or worry now that my computer didnt store any fault codes?

Thanks Kwikordead... I appreciate your confidence! I will not know if it was a good fix for a while as we are getting iced over right now and it looks like its going to continue for the next few days. I will not drive my truck on roads that look like polished glass! Had 2 school buses roll today let alone all the other mayhem on the roads!! Till the roads clear I'll just have to wait...
