Thanks to Marianna2003 for the part numbers for the seals.
I pulled the fuel line and was having a bear of a time getting the old hardened seals out. It was cold here this morning 48F . I used my cigarette lighter to heat them up and that made it much easier to dig them out.
No more air intrusion.
hey, i am having air intrusion problems as well. what seals did you replace? ive already replaced all the return lines and o-rings and am still having problems so im just trying to eliminate any potential sources of air intrusion.

The hard line going from the filter head to the center of the IP. The nuts on the line houses a rubber seal that when you tighten the line nut it squeezes the seal tightly like a compression fitting. There is also one at the back/driver side of the engine on the return line and one on the feed line from the liftpump on the filter head.
You can see the line here near the alternator and the other hard line going from the filterhead to the IP.

What is that seal part # and where is it available? I am having the same problem. Thanks
can also go to ford and pick them up for about 2.50 thats what i did i had the same problem
I went to Ford and they couldn't find a part number for what I needed. Most of the parts in the drawing he was looking at were listed as obsolete.
I received the parts from McMaster the next day.
huh thats odd.... the guy i talked to at ford said he could have them shipped to the dealer next day or i could just pick them up at the other dealer in kc. i was going that way and picked them up on my way by. we have midway ford truck center in kc and they handle all the heavy duty trucks fords got including IDI's that's where they sent me to pick them up
I can confirm that the seal kits that are advertised for the later model super duties, on Amazon and at the parts stores, do contain seals that will work in a pinch. I used the 5/16 seal on the IP and one of the 1/4 seals on the filter head and both sealed fine.
Dorman - OE Solutions Fuel Line Seal Kit 904-497 from advance is what I used. Really overpriced but if you are in a jam it'll get you home.
on Amazon they are advertised as fuel line seal kit for 99-03 7.3L power stroke.
I ordered the Russ kit to permanently fix the issue.
Hope this helps someone in the future!
