53 F-100 Trans Mount

Just purchased my first F-100. It still needs some completion before i use it. First couple of Questions. It has a 289 with a C-4. There is no rubber trans mount, Trans is bolted right to the crossmember. I think i hve to lower the crossmember and get a mount betrween is there a mount made just for this application? Also i'll bo buying some window channels, Tail lamps and other things. Is there a supplier that is recomended by anyone. Thanks

Hi Bob and Welcome to the site!

There are many suppliers that other members will suggest..... but the “main” (?) one is mid-fifties.

Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Home

As for trans mount, stock or aftermarket? You will have to let your fingers do the walking around the internet and eBay, Trans-dapt is one make.

Trans Dapt Performance Products - Engine Swap Motor Mount Kits

What is your location? It is always nice to find a supplier within an hours drive so you can look at something before you buy it. One of the FTE members may live next door or down the block. National Parts Depot has several locations around the country, LMC Truck is located just outside KCMO for example.

You'll find that virtually all Ford transmission mounts (manual and auto are often the same mount) use pretty much the same bolt spacing with the main difference being the thickness of the rubber and the offset of the bolts/holes.

During the course of your rebuliding the truck, you will need several great parts suppliers. The ones mentioned above are some of the top in the industry. Mid Fifties is the best for ANYTHING for your truck. Get their catalog. Parts are instock and ready to be shipped and Sy has everything, at fair prices. Another good supplier is Classic Performance Products in Anahiem Ca. They carry all your suspension, steering, brake needs. Owner Jim Reiss grewup in the classic truck world, his Dad owned So Cal Pickup in Buena Park. In the early years, it was the goto shop for F100's
