buying a tune??? maybe??

i have a guy that says he can download a tune and tune my truck. its a diablo sport tuner. i dont know if i should go with it or what? i figured i would get a few expert opinions. any help would be nice

I ran diablosport for a couple of years. Pretty good for off the shelf tunes. Do you have gauges?

yes i have gauges. does the diablo also tune for the trans? and is it in the preset tune or is that something that i have to go back in and do my self?

I believe there may be a misunderstanding or misrepresentation..... I had a Diablosport Predator tuner. These tuners, like Superchips or Hypermax, are VIN locked; when a tune is installed on a vehicle, the tuner cannot be used on another vehicle. Are you buying the tuner? or does he have capabilties to program and write tunes for vehicles from a computer??

There are adjustments made for the trans in the "canned" tunes from Diablosport. You can also adjust parameters, such as shift firmness, manually.
The tool is U7170 for the 99.5-03 7.3 PS. If it is an older tool, it may not have sufficient flash memory for the latest revisions from DS, and then you cannot adjust these peremeters, IIRC.

I still have the Predator, it's just used as a scan tool, though. I LOVE my DP-Tuner!!!!!!

Just have dp-tuner flash your pcm once you do that though you will want a switchable chip

my opinion would be just get the chip. Been there done that. Had a superchips then a pcm flash then I got the chip almost instantly lol. Diablosport is vin locked if its like my superchips but if you put your truck to stock then you can use it on another truck. That's so they don't have one tuner programing ten trucks. Its vin locked until the stock tune is put back in the truck hope that makes sense

I had a predator on my mustang. It was locked. He said he unlocked his and can get the tunes from the computer some how???? Idk I'm not big into computers.
I'm not making a lot of money rite now so I don't want to spend a lot rite before christmas. After that its time to hit the road again
