I've got a 2001 f250 w/5.4
Noticed I could smell antifreeze when I got to work this morning and coolant level was down. Noticed a puddle on top of the intake manifold
where the crossover bolts to it (front driver side ) I'm assuming there is o ring or gasket leaking .It looks like i have to pull the manifold because some of the crossover bolts come from the bottom is this correct? How big of a job is that? Also was planning to head up north after work is there any temporary fix to get thru the weekend till I have time to work on it next week? (such as rtv sealant or?) Will leaving the rad. cap loose help ?(less pressure on the system).
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
did u ever fix your intake manifold leak? how hard was it to do? i have a cracked intake manifold and have to replace mine and im looking for someone who replaced theres to see how hard it was to do or if i need any special tools to do it
if you can let me know if u did it or not and how it went if you did fix the leak
thanks in advance
I have not repalced it yet,I drained the coolant and cleaned the cracked area with accitone then used a good plastic epoxy on the cracked area.So
far it is holding (8 weeks).I'm hoping it holds till the weather gets nice. I do have a new one waiting to go in if or when it fails. Let me know how it goes if you change yours . Thanks
