tranny fluid problem

tranny fluid problem

ok i dropped the pan on my 03 f150 and i changed filter blah blah blah well i over filled the tranny by lik .5 qt and it all the way to the top of the dont add mark, is there any way I can remove some of the fluid with out dropping the pan again?

Though I've never tried it myself, I would find a tube or hose to fit down the filler tube and siphon/suck/pump it out!

The final level is set when the trans and fluid is up to operating temperature.
Fluid changes volume with temperature.

Since the OP didn't ask how to check the transmission fluid level, I went on the assumption that he already knew how to do that.

well the dipstick tube does say add cold hot and dont add and fluid expands when it gets hot and i tried the suckin and its hard to get the hose down the tube but i got it out thanks.
