Diablo Delta ??

I just installed a Diablo Delta on a 02 PSD. I know Ken is probably gone for the day (I'm on the West coast). Anyway, it starts and runs in all positions of the switch, but I can honestly not tell any difference in any of the performance positions. Yes, I'm turning the truck off (and removing the key) before switching to position 1 (stock) or the performance modes. Any ideas??? The chip does seem to take a second or so longer to start in the performance modes, so it appears to be in the circuit. Maybe I just expected more change in the performance. Hmmmm. Thanks for any ideas. Mike

The contacts probably aren't completely cleaned and there's conformal on at least one pin (its clear so its very easy to do). Trust me, you'd see a huge difference if it were communicating with the computer ---- its unmistakable with the diesel.

Or, you could be using the switch incorrectly. You can't have the key in while its in stock mode and flip it over to performance. It will stay in stock mode. You can only switch between performance modes with the key engaged but not between stock and performance. Take the key out, flip it to the center position and the put the key in and start it again. There's a sheet explaining the switch in detail that we wrote --- it has the switch positions labeled along with instructions.

Ken, Thanks, I'll try it again tomorrow (cleaning the contacts). I'm positive I'm doing the switch correctly. I was concerned I was over cleaning the contacts when I did it. I used electrical contact cleaner rather than the alchol after I scrubbed it with the greeny, but I'm sure your right. I didn't expect to find you on so late. My chip arrived a day early and your service it excellent, so I certainly don't have any complaints there. Thanks again for your help. Mike

Nail polish remover will take the coating completely off without damaging the pins. Its a nearly perfect solution for it.

I have all kinds of solvents in the garage, but that's one I don't have in the house. I'll pick some up and try it. Thanks again. Mike

Diablo Delta ??

I just installed the same chip in my 96 and felt a noticable difference in power but i went from getting 18 mpg down to 11 mpg with it so now i keep it in the stock position .I wish i knew what was causing the decrease in mileage.

Okay, I went out in the dark and pulled the ECU. Cleaned it again (did find it still had a film on the contacts) and WOW!!!!! You are right Ken, there is no doubt it's working now! Wow, and the sound..... awesome!!!

I can say without hesitation that anyone planning to do any mods along this line to their truck is missing out if they don't use Ken and this site. A truely positive experience from the freindly chat on the phone to my chip arriving one day sooner than promised. Excellent support and good folks to deal with!!

Thanks again to Ken and his staff and all who help out on this forum.
