ford up to exciting things
all of us are diesel guys, but take a look at what ford is doing for the f150. someone asked if chevy is scared, I have to say they better be. all the new cutting edge stuff in the engine area is coming from FORD. I am not a mind numb ford guy. in fact this is the first new ford of any kind I have ever bought, I have driven dodge trucks all my adult lifetime essentially.
watch the video on the f150 engines, they are going to offer 4 choices, if you haven't been paying attention thats a BUNCH. the most exciting one is the ecoboost engine v6 with twin turbos, it will offer over 400# of torque at 2500 rpm, again thats really stout for a gas motor. the fuel mileage on this engine should be excellent, its got power and fuel economy and I don't think any of the other makes have an answer for it right now. this kind of stuff is what made me buy a ford and leave dodge.

Ford has some really cool tech stuff - a lot of it has been derived from their European operations, especially the engine management technology both on the gasser and diesel side.
Funny thing is they have had this technology for a long time mostly because of Euro emission and mileage regs. We are seeing this technology on this side of the pond in large part due to the 2011 and beyond regs coming down the pike.
Ford definitely has a huge headstart over GM and Dodge in this area - although GM may quickly be looking for inspiration from Opel, LOL!
