DOES THIS THING REALLY WORK ???

I just received a catalog from a reputable store that shows a device that's supposed to increase mileage by up to 18% in approx 2 weeks time.

It supposedly does this by stabilizing the electrical current to the computer that controls the fuel injection and ignition systems (ECU) and by neutralizing electrical inteference from the stereo; lights and a/c. Looks like it plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Has anybody heard of this or has any experience with it?
I'd be happy with a 10% increase if it really did it.

Any input would be appreciated.

If it worked, it would be standard equipment on every vehicle. Car makers would kill for an easy 10%, let alone 18%.

Save your money.

I have to agree with "85e150six4mtod" if it was that good then the automakers would have it on their cars.

Although I agree with all the comments I think I'm going with Big Greenie's. The company is Hammacher Schlemmer, been around for 162 years, for $80 bucks I'll take a shot and let you know how I make out. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

I wonder if they have been selling the same trinkets and trash for all 162 years? Before Air Mall, I assume they sold on the Pony Express? Coupon code AWW will get you free shipping.

It is no more than a 15 cent 90 ohm resistor in a fancy plastic housing it places a constant load on the alternator. It is just a waste of cash!!
