The cab corners on my '81 have rust holes in them. Is there an easy way to patch those up without having to have a fancy wire feed welder??

Yeah, I've seen that before. One guy had his taillight knocked out and he took some red packing tape and covered it all up with that. When he hit the brakes it glowed just like the other side.

Actually, on the rust holes, it depends on how nasty you want to get. The best way is to weld on, or bond with adhesive, new patch panels. If you don't have access to the eqpt. and aren't worried about longevity, then there are some quick fixes out there that might look good- for awhile. Check out the bodywork forum. One guy on there has used something called all-metal. It apparently is a polyester like filler that is full of aluminum particles. He cleaned up the rust and used a rust convertor then filled the hole with this. Seems to have had good luck. Another guy used the expandable foam sealant that you can buy at the hardware store and filled the area behind the hole with this. After curing he trimmed it off even with the body surface and used a little filler and rattle canned it. There again don't expect years of service from these approachs. You'll probably be doing it again in a year or two.
