Anyone have a setup on their dent? I am running a 5.0 HO with stock mustang shorty headers. Same location as 2bbl 302 manifolds? I am mainly looking for advice and pictures of any done. I want to keep my O2 ports, no cats, x-pipe, Borla mufflers...possible?
Maybe so. I have an x-pipe on my '92 Corvette and absolutely love it, and so too does pretty much everybody who has ever heard the car.
Ford's and Chevy's have different firing orders though and with different displacements can sound VERY different.
Years ago one of my friends used to have a garage that was just off a very well traveled road. I remember working on cars there and we would hear something coming and we'd guess what it was before it got there. We got pretty good at it.

Everyone says that but thats only because they number the cylinders differently. A 302 (non HO) & 460 etc actually fire in the same order as a Chevy 350. Just look at a 350 and number the cylinders like a Ford (1 through 4 on pass side) and then pay attention at which order they fire. Its the same.

Point taken, however, a 351W has a different firing order and MANY a 302 has been upgraded with a 351 firing order cam. The Chevy Gen III series of engines has a different firing order than the Gen II and Gen I's. Part of the reason why the LS1 sounds different from an LT1. Of course another part of that is the radically different cylinder head design too.
For whatever the reason, what sounds good on a Ford might not sound good on a Chevy and vice versa.
I have the H pipe set-up on my 76 F-100. I've never had the X pipe on my truck so I can't say if it's better. But I've heard the H pipe is better for low-end torque.
