Anyone know if there is a nav update? Little disappointed. Buying a 2011 and the nav showing the address for the local Costco at the old location after it moved 2 years ago to a new location
If there is not an update, is there a workaround? I'm looking for an update because my nav made a 4.5 hour trip into a 6.5 hour trip. Fortunately I knew better. My $100 Garmin is more accurate in trip time and routes.
One one of the last pages of the Sync manual there is info on how to order updates. I think there is also a 800 number you can call.... the call is free so check with them about the latest maps.
Go to syncmyride.com. Setup an account. Update your firmware and learn about your system.
I have been to syncmyride.com and downloaded the installer. gave me no other downloads to do.

Thanks,
I will call them. I bought a 2011 truck!! that stickered for $62k + i really dont feel like I should have to pay for an upgrade with 2,300 miles on it. I will call them and let them know that
anyone tell me what ford sync navi unit cost beond the stanared radio cost?
My nav was part of my package but stand alone, I believe $1800 was the price. Ford has started to ofer the nav option at $750 for other vehicles but not SD's.
I think their pretty knew compared to most. Example: A new road was built close to me, started in 09/09 finished in 12/09 and it shows on my Nav system. Do they put different programs on different systems, who knows, but mine is up-to-date as far as I'm concerned.
Good luck ever trying to get an up to date map in any factory nav system - Ford included. Its the biggest scam going.
Ford will point to Navteq and Navteq will point to Ford and in the end you will find that not only is there no update available, nobody will be able to tell you when an update will be available.
There are 3 downloads available at syncmyride.com. 1 is a tool to find the version and see if you need an update. 2 is for Apple phones, ipods to fix the menu and recognition of songs, etc. in the sync system. 3rd one is for phone books that don't show correctly in sync.
agreed - as I understand it, the map data isn't part of sync, it's just utilized by sync.
mine seems to be very up to date in some places, and out of date in others. Also, as suggested before, there is no map disc. The map data is stored in flash.
I came through Dodge City yesterday and the by pass around the SE part of town, which has been there at least 6 years, did not show up. I drove into Rio Rancho, NM and a new street that has been there 2 years did show up. Go figure.
