I loved sanford and son for the same reason that i loved to watch Archie Bunker....because it showed how WE ALL compare our "ethnicity" to all others....what we like about "Deem Bums" ...whoever the Bums happen to be and all the facets of any given Ehnicity that we Don't like. I liked Archie Bunker because he allowed all of his Prejudices to show But he really didn't hate anybody....and as the meathead confronted archie with each ethnic transgression he was slowly confronting his demons and Purging them from his preconceived attitudes about the various ethnic groups...which..over time he learned to like...Isn't that the Same process that we ALL go thru as we mature and learn to accept different people for who they are........fd
My favorite scene qas when Fred was in a department store in the ladies section. (I don't recall why)
This rather large woman holds up a dress and asks "Excuse me sir, but what does this dress give you?"
Fred looks at it and says "A rash under the arms."
The lady says rather huffily "WELL!!! I never!!!"
Fred looks her right in the eye and says "I bet you did."
That show makes me want to pack my truck full of junk and cruise around the neighborhood. Bwom bwom Bween nom, bwom bwom bween nom bonnibom! Or something...
Great show, but I don't have cable, so I don't ever get to see it...
I would type more, but my arthur-I-tis is flaring...
