A few years ago I picked up a couple of Craftsman 2 1/2 ton jacks that were on sale for $27.00 each so I had to get two of them..It's been 2 years and they worked great ever since for my F-150. I changed the oil as needed and I have been pleased ever since..I also have a 5 ton jack just incase I need to lift anything thats over 2 tons..
Just thought those of you looking for a better and safer jack to use than the one Ford gives you.Not knocking Ford because I love Ford I just hate those jacks they give ya lol..
Well just trying to help ya'll out...
I've had my Craftsman 2 1/2 for 6 or 7 years and it's never missed a beat untill a couple of weeks ago the handle stripped out on the jack release mechanism.
I have a 3 ton that I have had for a couple years now. Always gets the job done but it now has an annoying fluid leak. I'll have to look into this later. Maybe I just over filled it.
I got 2 jackstand with my 2 1/2 ton jack and they are under warrenty with the Craftsman jack to.....lifetime warranty. They work great.
Yea those fluid leaks suck bad, I try to not overfill mine to much, sometimes I lose those rubber caps and that sucks bad....I have had to buy one cap that I lost..but all in all I love my Craftsman jack alot, just wish I could teach my wife to use it so she won't call me when she is 100 miles away to come fix a flat for her...lol
Dumb question: are you guys talking about bottle jacks or trolley jacks? I carry a no-name bottle jack in my truck, and it's gotten me out of trouble plenty of times, but I'm thinking that a trolley jack would be more comfortable and safer for use at home.
I am just talking about a normal 2 1/2 ton floor jack that u can roll...Has helped me out a ton and i got a 5 ton jack to.....they really are good ones..change the oil ever so often and make sure it works good every 3 months
Are the Craftsman jacks made in the USA? I'll go by Sears tonight and take a look at them; probably the best I can hope for is "made in Taiwan" instead of "made in China by slave labour".
