intercooler parts

I know we can use an IC from a 7.3 or 6.0 but how about the pipes? Not the spider but the hot/cold side ic pipes. I've found one at work with pipes but I don't know what year or if the pipes are even different between the years.

So how can I tell the difference? There's a huge salvage room and the ic and the pipes are just laying around

I don't know, suppose you'd need some pics to look at. I know some of the 7.3 pipes are aluminum so take a magnet with you to tell them apart. When I did mine the guy had a big pile of pipes to choose from and I took 3, one for each side and one to use as extra for modding when necessary. When I went to weld together, found out one of the 3 was aluminum so I had to get a boot to put it together.

I'm not sure how to tell the difference b/w the 7.3 and 6.0 pipes. I'm sure there are pics somewhere but I'm not one who knows where.

And I attached a couple of pics of the pipes I bought with the IC and I used one as it was for the drivers side (the closest to the IC) and the distal part of the other and added a angle (45 grades) pipe for the pass. side with a boot between them and then with large boots to the Y pipe.

I just did a hack job by putting a piece of exhaust pipe (2") inbetween the spider and the 99 intercooler pipes, then double booted it. don't laugh!
