Well , since we are posting pics of our trannys, here is mine. I set it next to the truck and lined it up with the front edge of the box, just to get an idea how long it is.
Dan- That's cheating! Nice setup. Can you easily tilt front to rear? I can by just barking orders at my friend Ron on the other jack!
I've loved that picture since the day you first posted it.
Yes, front to back and side to side.
And all the wheels swivel 360 degrees.

That's what I was talking about in my other post.
If I didn't already have a tranny jack, then I would have one of those.

This picture is an excellent example of why you shouldn't try this job without a tranny jack.
That's a nice sturdy looking jack there.

The jack is actually for heavy truck transmissions, 13, 15, and 18 speeds. It works great because it can be tilted any direction and the long handles allow you to work it from any where under the truck.
There is 199000 on the clock and have known the previous owner since the truck was new. The clutch has not been replaced to my knowledge. Should I go ahead and replace the clutch or wait till it goes out?
If it were me, I would start shopping for parts now, since it is still working. Then plan on a good time to tear into it. Much better to do that then wait for it to let go.
You may make it last awhile, but then again it may cause the pressure plate to fail and then you are stuck.
I'd call it a minor miracle it's still working with that much mileage! Replace it. It's quite a bit of work to get in there, and there will be no better time than now.
Can I go with a stock clutch setup or should I upgrage to something that holds around 450 hp. I plan on keeping my truck the way it sits but if I ever have injector problems I will probably uprade to some bigger injectors. What Do yall think?

Here is a picture of my factory clutch. It worked fine and one day I pushed on the pedal and everything went soft. It would get around but would slip like crazy if I used much throttle. If you can, change it before it completely fails, so it won't leave you stranded. I ended up going with a Southbend 1944 6or. It it butter smooth and no slip, even with pulling 4 horses up a 6% grade. Here is where I got mine.
