4X4 not engaging

I have a 94 Ranger and the wheel drive is not engaging but the light on the dash comes on indicating it is in 4x4, I've been told it is probably the shift control module. First, how can you test this and second is there any where a person can locate a good used one via the internet?

4X4 not engaging

if the light on the dash comes on then the transfer case is engaged, i would say you need some new hubs
