I have a 2003 powerstroke that i have had problems with it starting. Three different time this has happened. It will turn over but will not start. first time it done it i had it towed to ford it was under warranty. They put computer on it everything showed working they tried starting started up been starting fine until about 6 months later done it again .put back on computer at ford nothing . It just done it a again on NOV 12,2010 about 6:00pm tried starting sat morning would not start tried sunday morning nothing then late sunday it started up any ideas on this problem
Look in the tech folder at the beginning of the 6.0 Forum. There is a thread there that describes how to diagnose a no start condition. You should also read the thread about FICM repair/replacement and how to check it's voltage. Check your invoice on the computer they put in. It should have a 12/12 warranty. Were you able to get it code scanned before you replaced the batteries???
Just to add to the above, I would focus on wire harness chaffing, maybe a bad ICP connector, or maybe a fuse or relay is not seated properly (chances are that it is not psd junk).
Well there is a 10 amp fuse next to the firewal on drivers side where there are relays and one other fuse . Yesterday before i tried starting it i had pulled the 10 amp fuse out checked it it was good so i put it back in that's when it started up no problem. today i pulled the fuse out tried starting it does the same thing it has done in the past just turn over and over. so I think i have narrowed the problem down somewhat. ......ANY IDEAS NOW
If the fuse you're refering to is under the hood it is for the FICM. A FICM relay is also there that is powered by a 50A fuse from somewhere. You can see the relay in the top center of the attached picture.
