Fuel Smell
My early '99 was stolen and totaled recently and I replaced it with on '02 7.3L. I've been noticing a fuel smell and today I found a small puddle of fuel in the valley. Could this be just a fuel filter leak or something more serious?

From what I've heard around here, it is likely to be either an HPOP O-ring or a leaky filter bowl. Both are relatively easy to fix with well-organized/packaged parts from dieselorings.com. Others will likely chime in with more familiarity about procedures. Good luck!

Contact Diesel O-rings for the fuel bowl drain valve o-rings. Cost about $3 and takes about a half hour to change out. If you do a search on here for o-rings, you will find his threads and contact info. Easy fix.

Thanks guys. This is why I love this site so much. I have learned a lot about these trucks on here and I have only scratched the surface. I'm thankful that there are so many knowledgable folks here that are willing to share what they know.
