Steering Gear ????
How can I find out where my steering gear box came from i.e year,make possible model. I know it's not the original steering box. I've got a 74 f100 XLT short box with I think a 4" lift and 35" tires with power steering. are ther numbers somewhere on it and some place i can check em ?

Steering boxes came with a tag under the top bolt of the sector shaft cover. If that tag is missing there isn't really any way to tell.
Here is a picture of the tag (I know, it's under the wrong bolt).
