new pics!

i think i have figured things out. here are some pics of the set up now, does this look right? also, is it correct to hook the vacuum gauge up to the gold nipple circled in green? do i have to block the other side of the hose (marked in red) becuase there is a vacuum coming from that as well. lastly, what does the yellow arrowed hose hook up to? i think its the gas overflow and just needs to be routed away from any combustion source, is this right? thanks for any help!

*The gold nipple circled green I believe is correct.. Should be a manifold vacuum port..

The other two I am not sure about as I can't see the picture anymore while typing this...

Is the hose from the gold nipple to the steel line on the manifold part of an egr system?

The line from the distributor to the carb will work, but should be a ported source(big debate in some performance boards if ported or manifold vacuum is better). There is a ported source on the drivers rear of the carb body.

The hose on the top left of the carb. is just filtered air for the pcv system. This system starts at a manifold vacuum source, through the pcv valve in the oil cap, through the engine, out the opposite valve cover to the filtered air inlet on the carb. or air cleaner housing.

I was wrong, the big hose is the pcv(to air cleaner). The little hose is filtered for something? else.

I have a 77 F150 - 400. Here is where the yellow marked hose goes in my truck. God knows if it is right. Sorry, I don't know how to post a picture with the message.

In the 1st picture you see the hose going into the carb like yours.

vacuum - Picture

In the 2nd picture you see the choke pullback on the right side of the picture. The hose on the right of the pullback goes to a pipe that is on the left of the pullback which then curls around and down to the bottom of the picture.

vacuum - Picture

The last picture is the front left side of the carb. The nut is the hold down for the carb. The plate with the bolt is the heat shield for the choke thermostat housing. Look below that. See that little pipe going into the manifold? That is where it ends. It looks like it is part of the system that heats air for the choke. The metal pipe on yours goes to a hose that goes to the front of the motor. Where does that go?

Yes, but the hose and pipe don't go there. They just goes from the carb to the manifold like the 3rd picture. Nothing in between.

On mine the tube from the gold nipple goes to the vacuum resivoir which is the juice can right by the battery. Hose then goes to the back of the engine. Just like the picture on page 1 of the thread. Yours must be completely different then mine. Sorry.
