I have a 04 Ford F150, and the thing that is annoying me is that every time i start the truck and start to drive i hear these beeps which sounds like its coming from the Dash Board.
Pretty much i get 5 beeps about 1 second apart, then it stops for a few seconds then beeps again for 5 times 1 sec apart each beep then stops for a few seconds and starts again. So it does this 5 times so i get a total of 25 beeps. THIS always happens whenever i start the engine and start to drive.
i see no check engine light on, the only thing i do notice that when i got the truck there Air Bag light would be on sometimes but for the past few weeks its been off.
Now i am missing the left fog light which i ordered already but not sure if this is the cause of the problem.
Fog lamp won't cause that issue. Is your seat belt fasten? Sounds like it's your belt reminder, that's the only chime you should have. Next time, when you get in, fasten your seatbelt before you put your key in and make sure all your doors are closed. See if the chime is gone, then that was your noise.
As to your airbag light, I'm guessing it's your front crash sensor. Next time it comes on, count the flashes, it will be 2 or 3 quick and slight pause and a couple more quick flashes to generate a 2 digit code, then it repeats. Search the forum, we've all have issues with this on the 04s. Sensor is located on the front rad support and the pins corrode.
I just had to deal with this exact problem when I first bought mine a few months ago. 5 beeps x 5 (and different then the seat belt chime). The car dealer I bought it from couldn't figure it out and had to take it to the Ford Dealer (3 different times). $1200 later, at his expense, they traced it down to the seat beat thing itself. I actually picked it up from the dealership when the part arrived and installed it myself...and presto! no more fricken beeping! Although, I can't be certain that is your problem.
I looked forever for this part number (fordparts.com)...$133

When you first turn your key on all the dash lights should light for a second or two, check to see if your airbag light lights up, if not fix it, then fix whatever is wrong with the system itself when you can. There is no question in my mind that is your problem. It is a little known feature of the SRS system that when the bulb is not functioning and there is a fault in the system, the module, gauge cluster in this case, emits 5 sets of 5 beeps as it can no longer signal a failure via the light. Gixer311’s beeping was caused by the same problem, except he fixed the root cause, should the system ever have another fault, and his light is still out, I’d bet money his beeping comes back.
I also have this problem! Except it's the least of my worries until i get my truck running again! The air bag readiness light sometimes stays on in my truck aswell and sometimes it doesn't. But i get the same 5 beeps and about 5 times in a row too... I have read that a chime will sound when a malfunction in the supplemental restraint system has been detected, and i believe this is your problem aswell as mine! It's very annoying! lol
Maybe this will help, copied from the service manual.
Restraints Control Module (RCM)
WARNING: The restraints control module (RCM) orientation is critical for correct air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) operation. If a vehicle equipped with an SRS system has been involved in a collision in which the center tunnel area has been damaged, inspect the mounting area for deformation. If damaged, the RCM must be replaced whether or not the air bags have deployed. In addition, make sure the area of the RCM mounting is restored to its original condition.
NOTE: When installing a new restraints control module (RCM), always make sure the correct RCM is being installed. If an incorrect RCM is installed, erroneous DTCs will result.
The restraints control module (RCM) is mounted on the center tunnel between the front seats. The RCM:
supplies current flow to the inflators to deploy the air bags in the event of a deployable crash.
activates the safety belt buckle pretensioners to remove slack from the safety belt.
monitors the air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) for faults.
illuminates the air bag indicator if a fault is detected.
illuminates the passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) indicator when conditions warrant illumination.
flashes the air bag indicator to indicate the lamp fault code (LFC) detected.
communicates through the data link connector (DLC) the current or historical diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
signals the instrument cluster module to activate a chime if the air bag indicator is not available and another SRS fault exists.
contains an internal safing sensor which is not serviced separately.
records deployment event data.
The RCM monitors the SRS for possible faults. If a fault is detected while the ignition switch is in the ON position, the RCM will illuminate the air bag indicator located in the instrument cluster.
When the ignition is cycled (turned OFF and then ON), the air bag indicator will remain lit for 6 seconds and then go out. If an SRS fault exists, the air bag indicator will then flash the 2-digit LFC. The air bag indicator will flash the LFC 5 times, then it will remain illuminated for the rest of the key cycle. The RCM will also communicate the current and historical DTCs through the DLC, using a scan tool. If the air bag indicator does not function, and the system detects a fault condition, the RCM will signal the instrument cluster module to activate an audible chime. The chime is a series of 5 sets of 5 tone bursts. If the chime is heard, the SRS and the air bag indicator require repair.
LFCs are prioritized. If 2 or more faults occur at the same time, the fault having the highest priority will be displayed first. After that fault has been corrected, the next highest priority fault will be displayed.
The RCM includes a backup power supply. This feature provides sufficient energy to deploy the front air bags and safety belt buckle pretensioners in the event that the ignition circuit is damaged or lost in a collision before the RCM determines that air bag deployment is required. The backup power supply will deplete its stored energy approximately one minute after the battery ground cable is disconnected.

I can only speculate as to why the tone would be heard while the light was functional, but I'm guessing somewhere along the line the RCM is falsely coming to the conclusion that the light is inoperative.
Two socket type screws under the dash that hold on the bottom cover by your knees, then pull it out (held in by an additional two clips). Then remove two screws holding on the cluster cover on the right and left of the steering wheel, then pull the cover towards you...I grab at the back near the windshield. You then have another four screws holding in the cluster. Make sure you disconnect the battery before disconnecting the cluster. Hope that is your fix for your problem.
Ford has had some problems with their airbags going off spontaneously. There is currently a NHTSA invenstigation on the subject. I think you should be able to get the dealer to check it out as there should be a lifetime warranty on restraint systems.
I just inherit a ford F 150, and when I take it out it has this freaking beep, it's the same beep when the trunk of my ford Mustang is ajar. It's definitely something that is not closed properly or maybe some sensor? we make sure the seatbelts are fastened. I have a FXD gadget and I put it on when the check engine light was on and it registered a lot of codes...one of them had to do with the rear door cinching latch P1484? no sure if that has to do with the second door in the cabin or the tail gate door? if anyone knows I would appreciate their input.
Thanks
