Sounds more like a spark plug wire or plug problem.
Check the voltage on the spark plug wires with it running.
See if one wire is a lot higher KV then the rest.
I put new wires, plugs, rotor & cap on my F53 and started out on a trip and about 100 mi into the trip it started doing the same thing. After putting my KV meter on it #7 voltage was too high.
The plug wire was not all the way on and after closing the end some and putting it back on the the voltage was down to normal and no more miss under load.
I use one of these to check the voltage.
As long as the dial has about the same number at each plug wire when checked at the Distributor Cap I call that wire OK. If one is higher then the rest or lower I know I have a problem with that plug, wire or cap position.
