Need some info on small rust spots on my paint, I have a 2002 F350 that is covered with these little spots looks like it has the measels, asked my dealer he said it was from the road salt & chemicals mix. He said I should wait for spring and take it to a detail shop and have a chemical wash done at my expense. I have 49,000.00 Kms on the truck so far and have 2 other older Fords that don't have this problem, could it be a bad paint batch for that year? Any info would help as I have to get this taken care of befor the warranty is gone.
Thanks Lil
There was some similar talk on this same thing a little while ago. Here's a link to the Post. Look it over and see if it sounds like the same thing you're finding.
Thank you for the thread , it does look similar to what I have but mine are not as deep as the one in the picture, will contact Ford out this,
Thank You
Lil
Let us know how things turn out. Im curious about this. You would think that someone would have ID this problem long ago and fixed it. I see lots of new vehicles with the front ends covered with a plastic film when they come off the rails. Surprised Ford didnt think about that idea.
Went to the dealer that sold me the truck, after a lot of screaming , they will fix it at there charge and will warrenty any future rust problem in these areas in writing, guess using my Best Mothers ** who do you think you are and boy are you in big trouble voice** still works. Needless to say thank you very much for all the info that I got it helped a lot.
