Hi guys,
I've been working on getting the brake system rebuilt on my rig for a while now. Last week I got it all back together and today I did a few checks. I notice that the rotors drag slightly on the calipers. It is not enough to stop the wheel, but enough to hear the slight grind. Is this normal? I havn't found a good answer in older threads.
Did you replace the hoses as well? I have been seeing a LOT of hoses failing internally, which will retain some pressure on the caliper. The rotor has to actually move the caliper back a little, so some drag initially is normal, but not after a few turns.
Disc brakes will always have a slight drag since there are no springs to return the piston like on drum setups. As long as you feel no resistance its not a problem
