i recently started driving my in-laws 94 ranger. it runs and drives really good for a car that hasnt been driven more then a 1000 miles a year for the last 5 years. well ive noticed if i need to press the gas pedal hard because of merging into traffic it will fall flat on its face and almost die. i havent done much to it. ive changed the oil and filter. should a tune up ie plugs plug wires fuel filter and air filter fix this problem? thanks in advance
Give us more information such as which engine, miles on the truck, is check engine light on, anything unusual that has happened to the truck recently, and detailed service history. With that additional information, we should be able to help you out.
sorry it has the 4.0l with an automatic with 117,000 miles on it. no check engine light. i put some lucas complete fuel system cleaner in it yesterday and it runs alot better. when i put it in the check engine light came on for about a minute then shut off and hasnt came on since.
i went to change the front brake pads today cause the brake pedal was real spongy and took some effort to get it to stop. the front pads turned out to be in good shape. but the rears were a different story. the driver side had about 1/8" of pad left so they were bad but the the passenger side had NO pad what so ever. im not kidding the rivets were the only thing on the shoes the pads were gone. needless to say after changing them the truck will stop now.
