SPOUT connector location

f150 92 straight 6 auto. The only single wire connector I can find is over behind the battery but all the pix I see show it by the drivers side hood hinge near the diagnostic connector.

As I understand it you should have two wires side by side to a plug with a jumper plugged into it.
