Dumb Hpop reservoir question
This is a silly question but I heard this several years ago and never have personally verified it as true or not so I thought I would ask u guys to see. I think its wrong with what little I know about these.
This is what I was told:
When u have a PSD with hard cold start issues, if u suck the oil out of the HPOP reservoir and refill it with fresh oil up to an inch of the plug, It fixes the start issue. It was said that it does not circulate/drain when doing normal oil services.
Thats about all I have to say about that. I seem to remember too that it said to be common up until a certain production year.
Its something I have always wondered about but never wanted to ask.

true it does not drain when you dump the oil out of the pan... but it does get refilled with new oil in a matter of seconds after you fire up the truck with new oil in it....you can suck it out and refill by hands if you wish but its not needed..unless you have some pretty bad oil or the level is very low in the reservoir it wont help a hard start problem...
