i have a 75 highboy and want to jack it up a little higher. ive been reading on here about using SD springs in the front and 64" in the back and that seems a like a fun project but im a little confused about it with the steering. then i was also wondering about lift kits made for those trucks. if u buy a 4 inch suspension, when u install it is it going to be just as tall or 4" taller cuz i have four inch blocks in the back.. if anyone can help me with this it would be very helpful.
If you buy a 4" lift for that truck, your truck will be approximately 4 inches taller than it is now (maybe even a little more if the stock springs have sagged). These trucks aren't considered to have a "lift" from the factory, they were just built that way. I would definitely consider a lift with replacement rear springs. Don't go any taller on the blocks or stack blocks. In fact I would rather eliminate them as they cause axle wrap. You will definitely need a steering block to raise the drag link. I would recommend searching this site on some of the integral steering gear conversions which can be done on these trucks (fabrication required). Good luck.
thank you! thats what i thought since they came from the factory like that but the picture show blocks in them. whats a good way to eliminate the blocks and fabrication isnt a problem, cuz that would be great.
