Cruise Control help
I have 2000 Lincoln Navigator. I drove to Chicago yesterday and to my surprise cruise control wasn't working. I have presses on/off, resume button on steering but no result. The last time i used the control was back in September. Any idea where to start to trace the problem, such as wire, connector, fueses etc.......

Did your vehicle have the cruise control recall repair done to it ? You could have popped the fuse that's on the harness that's installed as part of the recall fix. Yes, new switch with the recall has been installed by ford last year some time. Both side thumb control on steering do lit and my right hand side (Audio/Temp) just works fine. I have checked brake lights, horn and they all work fine... You guys think so if the switch has gone bad...

I took my Mark VIII to the dealer for diagnosis and they sold me the switches and gave me a bunch of chat about how hard it was to diagnose. After spending a couple of hundred with them and still no cruise I started checking stuff myself and found that the shielded cable from the unit to the throttle body had broken. I suggest you check the cables on the t-body, just for grins. Good luck with it.
