Just wondering if anyone had any input on this. I have a 2001 expy 4x4 4.6
When im on the highway and im over 50 I get a odd humming from the front end. But it goes away when im turning to the left. Im assuming its a hub that needs to be replaced since getting new tired didnt help. Anyone know which one it would be? The DS hub was replaced about 3 months ago and the PS was replaced about a 1 1/2 yrs ago. they were both replaced due to ABS sensors dying. I saw some people saying to go to the quick lube and have the differential done and ad a modifier. I guess i should give that a shot too.
It would be the driver's side. Turning left shifts the vehicle weight to the right side, this results in the load being lifted off the driver's side hub so the noise stops.
lol i dont know. Ill give the guy a call tomorrow. I need an inspection anyway so I had to talk to him anyway. He should fix it any way (in my opinion). That part was part of a trade we made for one of my cars I sold him.
Update:::::: It ended up being the P/S hub that was no good. I have a friend at a Ford dealership and I got it for $300 ($25 savings!!!!!!!!) smacked it in myself. Took me about an hour while getting yelled at cause I forgot I had dinner plans lol
